It’s hard to know just how much of it will alter the behavior of those inclined to bully, but schools’ growing focus on the problem at the very least lets potential victims know there is support if they need it. Hundreds of students gathered last Monday at Grace F. Cole Elementary School in Norwell to kicked off Stand Up Youth Nation’s new anti-bullying campaign. The Brockton-based nonprofit aims to help South Shore children and teens who are dealing with social issues, including bullying, and Monday’s event in Norwell debuted a new approach to getting the anti-bullying message out. West Division of the GVISAA Basketball League

Congratulations to the St. John’s International Basketball Team. With only 2 returning players from last year, the new core of players worked hard to gel and achieve good team work. Under the guidance of new coach Steven Xu the team finished 4th in the West Division of the GVISAA basketball league with a 4-3 win-loss record. The team lost a hard fought game in the quarter-finals playoff round. Kudos to Wenda Mo for leading the team as the captain and assistan coach. Also thanks to Victor Liu for being team manager and Judy Hu for score keeping. Best of luck next season.

St. John’s Dragons Senior Basketball Game

The basketball team lost a hard fought game against the King David Lions. The score was 66-52. Wenda Mo led the team with a double-double (18 points and 10 rebounds) while Raymond Chang set-up plays and scored 11 points. Good luck in their next game on Monday Jan 16, 2012 which is a home game at Creekside community centre starting 4:30pm.
